Join David Bedford as he takes you on a tour through the Beatles’ Liverpool, telling you about his childhood in the Dingle, right where Ringo Starr was born and lived, and how he helped to save Ringo’s birthplace.
As you travel through the tour, David will explain the stories behind key places like Penny Lane, and how, when researching his first book “Liddypool”, he discovered the true meaning of the song. Visit St. Peter’s Church, where John and Paul met, as David discusses the interviews with The Quarrymen he has conducted over the years, to find out more about the day John met Paul. You will, of course, see Strawberry Field and go inside the childhood homes of John and Paul (open between March and November), before a visit to the Casbah Coffee Club.
Tour Option 1: Also visit some of the lesser known sites on the Wirral, including some of the smallest venues The Beatles ever played, as well as Hulme Hall, where Ringo made his debut, plus some of the rarely visited sites in the North of Liverpool, like Lathom Hall, Litherland Town Hall, Paul’s birthplace at Walton Hospital and New Clubmoor Hall.
Tour Option 2: Explore more of South Liverpool, like Speke, where George and Paul lived, and Garston, Allerton and other rarely visited locations. You will also visit the Beatles Magical History Museum in Mathew Street, as David guides you through the exhibits.
