As you travel through the tour, David will explain the stories behind key places like Penny Lane, and how, when researching his first book “Liddypool”, he discovered the true meaning of the song.
Visit St. Peter’s Church, where John and Paul met, as David discusses the interviews with The Quarrymen he has conducted over the years, to find out more about the day John met Paul. You will, of course, see Strawberry Field and the childhood homes of The Beatles, before a visit to either the Strawberry Field Experience or the Casbah Coffee Club.

We have designed a special tour for Beatles fans, based around the best-selling book by David Bedford, “Liddypool: Birthplace of The Beatles”, and his new book “The Fab one hundred and Four”, and David will accompany you on the tour.
We want to take you on a chronological tour through the very genesis of John’s first group, initially named The Blackjacks, but then known as The Quarrymen, right through until Ringo joined them in August 1962.
We will take you to Woolton, to see where John and his friends grew up; to St. Peters’ Church where John and Paul met; to Wilson Hall where George played “Raunchy” as his audition to John.
You will also see where Stuart Sutcliffe lived; where Pete Best grew up in Hayman’s Green and where the Casbah Coffee Club was based. You will also learn about lesser known musicians in the story, like Tommy Moore, Norman Chapman, Ken Brown and many more.
We finish at Mathew Street and The Cavern Club.
Of course, we won’t leave out their homes and schools, plus places like Strawberry Field and Penny Lane. All fees are included in the tour price.
