THE “LOOKING FOR LENNON” TOUR
In 2018, the documentary feature film, “Looking for Lennon”, was released. David Bedford served as historical consultant and Associate Producer for the film, and he will guide you around John Lennon’s Liverpool, delving deep into the story behind the famous Beatle.
Discover the roots of John’s parents, with the Lennon family and the Stanley family both coming from the Dingle area. David will explain the true story of John’s tumultuous childhood, from his birth at Oxford Street Maternity Hospital, through the numerous homes he lived in, and how he ended up living with his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George.
You will also get to see inside John’s home at Mendips on the National Trust tour (open between March and November) and explore the village of Woolton as John knew it.
David will also share some of the previously unpublished photos of John’s family, whilst separating fact from the fiction as you learn about John’s life, from the people who knew him best.
You will also see the inside of the Casbah Coffee Club, and see the ceiling that John painted, which is still there.
