Join Beatles historian David Bedford as he takes you on a tour through the Beatles’ Liverpool, telling you about his childhood in the Dingle, right where Ringo Starr was born and lived, and how he helped to save Ringo’s birthplace.
As you travel through the tour, David will explain the stories behind key places like Penny Lane, and how, when researching his first book “Liddypool”, he discovered the true meaning of the song. He will also discuss the stories behind the places and people connected to the Beatles in Liverpool from his other books, “The Fab one hundred and Four” and “Finding the Fourth Beatle”.
Visit St. Peter’s Church, where John and Paul met, as David discusses the interviews with The Quarrymen he has conducted over the years, to find out more about the day John met Paul. You will, of course, see Strawberry Field and go inside the childhood homes of John and Paul (open between March and November), before a visit to the Casbah Coffee Club.
You will also see some of the places that other tours do not go to, as well as a lunch in a great venue with a Beatles connection, that not many people visit.
We will finish at the Magical History Museum in Mathew Street, as David guides you through the exhibits.
